King builds the best hubs and bearings in the cycling industry. With any über-high-end product, they need regular maintenance to keep them running flawlessly. Parallel has always focused on wheels, building and servicing, and as such Parallel can offer a very high level of service for Chris King hub just as with every other non-OEM hub on the market.

“Riding conditions will determine how often to service your hubs. As a beginning guideline, your hubs should be serviced every 6-18 months in normal and dry conditions and every 3-6 months in wet or muddy conditions.”

This type of preventative maintenance helps to keep your hubs, bottom bracket, and headset working perfectly while also reducing the chance of a breakdown, which can be a very costly repair. All Chris King service is done with Chris King tools and lubricants directly from Chris King or with the best possibly synthetic oil depending on riding conditions. Service Guide:

Front Overhaul
Axle removed, bearings stripped and cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner.
Fresh Chris King silver bearing grease applied, hub shell cleaned,
and re-assembled with correct bearing preload.

Rear Overhaul
Axle removed, bearings stripped and cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner,
and fresh Chris King silver bearing grease applied.
Driver assembly removed and cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner.
RingDrive oil/10w30 Synthetic oil applied, hub shell cleaned,
and re-assembled with correct bearing preload.

Rear Driver Service
Axle removed, driver assembly removed and cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner,
RingDrive oil/10w30 Synthetic oil applied, hub shell cleaned,
re-assembled with correct bearing preload.
Bearings are not cleaned/serviced during a Rear Driver Service!
